Date for 3!


We had a date night tonight with Jadyn. Nathan and I really prefer older children to newborns (no offence Maya). Jadyn is just at such a fun age that we can do so many fun things with her and see her excitement.

We went mini golfing first. We were surprised at how well Jadyn got the game. I thought she would have been bored after 2 or 3 holes. Nope, she stuck it out the whole time, learned how to correctly hold her putter, and played most holes by herself after Nathan helped her line the ball up. She was actually the only one to hit a hole in one (with a little guidance from Daddy of course). So, the final scores were Jadyn: 49 (with a little help :) Mommy: 71 and Daddy: 46. So, if you are ever feeling down about yourself, come play mini golf with me....I stink!

Then we went to Marble Slab (Coldstone knock-off) because we had a buy one get one free coupon. We were actually pretty impressed. We weren't expecting it to be nearly as good as Coldstone, but it is actually very good. I had Raspberry ice cream with bananas mixed in and Nathan had Sweet Cream with Oreos mixed in. Jadyn had some of both!

So, we had a fun night and only spent $8.56 because we had coupons to both places. Not bad for a 3 person date filled with fun!

Chicken or Beef?

Last night Jadyn was helping me make dinner. We were putting a can of cream of mushroom soup in a bowl to mix with milk and Jadyn made a hilarious statement. She said "What is that? Chicken or beef?" After I stopped laughing, I told her it had mushrooms in it and she said "Oh". I have no idea where she comes up with these things.

Daddy has a hole in head

Well, as most of you are aware, Nathan is going bald on top. No big surprise. Well, to Jadyn it was. Daddy and Jadyn were playing and when Nathan leaned down Jadyn said in a surprised voice "Daddy has hole in head". Nathan got a big kick out of it. She says the funniest things lately.

I didn't rush to the ER today...



...but only because I was in my PJ's. Jadyn and I had a "Pajama Party" playgroup this morning. When we first got to the playgroup, I noticed a quarter-sized raised welt below her knee. I thought it was strange and had some of the other moms look at it to make sure it didn't look like something contagious. I thought a bug must have bitten her and skin swells like mine does.

Well, when we were leaving I noticed it had gotten larger. I still was just going to keep an eye on it. When I was putting Jadyn in her carseat, I noticed that her other leg in the thigh area was totally broken out. I called Nathan (okay, I do use my cell phone occasionally :) to have him call the doctor's office to set-up an appointment. Even though we were on the side of town where the doctor was, I had to go home to change out of our party clothes (PJ's would have looked interesting at the doctor's office).

Nathan called back and said the nurse said it was most likely a contact rash and to get some benadryl and cortisone cream. So, I stopped at Wal-mart on the way home and picked those items up (it is not as sketchy to go into Wal-mart in PJ's because it is likely you will run into someone else in them too!).

When we got home, the rash was all over half of one of Jadyn's legs and almost completely covering the other. I gave her the medicine and decided that if it didn't look better after I fed her lunch, I was going to call the doctor back. Luckily, as I checked after lunch, it was almost completely gone. I was so worried. Jadyn is now asleep on my bed for her nap because I still didn't want to let her out of my sight. I know I am protective, but I like it that way!

The only thing I can think of that may have caused it: silicone. I was packing up some kitchen boxes and Jadyn was playing with some flower cupcake silicone baking pans. That is the only thing I can think of that she had contact with that was out of the norm. So, she might be allergic to silicone.

Taylor is a shark!


Taylor had her first swim meet today. She got second place in front crawl and third place in backstroke. She was really nervous at first, but after the first race Taylor decided she wants to swim everyday!

Weightloss navigational device?

Can anyone tell me why after losing over 40 lbs my body still looks like this??? Too bad there isn't a weightloss device that targets the hips and thighs!!!!

Meatloaf at 6:00 pm!

Well, it is 8:30 am and Jadyn and I already have dinner done. She loves to help in the kitchen. She was actually breaking up the pieces of bread smaller than I was. It is nice to have a little helper.
