Potty Training

Well, potty training is going well. Jadyn is staying dry during the day and naps, and even stayed dry last night. However, we have 2 major hang-ups.

1. She is not telling me when she needs to go. She will occasionally, but for the most part, she is holding it until I take her to sit on the potty. I have tried to extend the time between potty runs (up to 3 hours), but she still really isn't telling me she needs to go.

2. She will not go on any potty besides her potty at home. We have a cushion potty seat that sits on the top of the toliet at home. I think she is worried of falling in on public toliets even though I am holding her. She crys and even starts to shake when I try to put her on a public toliet. Yesterday, she would not go at church. So, by the time she went (after waking up from falling asleep on the way home), it had been 5 hours since she went. While it is great that she can hold it that long and stay dry, that is not good for her little bladder. (Although I am kind of jealous though since I have a bladder the size of a pea!) They have portable, folding potty seats you can carry in your purse to put on public toliets (see picture). I really didn't want to go that route, but I might have to.

Any suggestions?

Voting at such a young age

We had our presidential primary here on Jan. 15th. Jadyn was a hit at the polling location. I think all the volunteers (i.e. bored old people) were excited to see a kid. Jadyn has an amazing memory. I told her to say "Go Mitt" while pointing to the voting sticker after we got home from voting. Much later, after her nap she woke up and saw the sticker on me (it had been transfered back to the "real" voter), and sleepily said "Go Mitt". Later she told daddy to vote for Mitt. It looks like we are breeding our own little batch of conservative republicans in this household!

Slumber Party!

Grandma-

Here are some pictures of us from our sleep over. We watched Cars and beat Meggie in Sorry! We miss you! We are anxious to go home, so Meggie doesn't have time to rotate pictures. Sorry.

Hawaii!!!

It's official! I am heading to the wonderful state of Hawaii again this year. I bought my plane ticket today. This time we are spending 2 days in Maui and the rest of my spring break in O'ahu. I am so excited! The best thing about being single is that I can do these trips and only pay for me! Plus, I am going with 4 other girls, so everything is split between 5! I can handle that!

Bring on the Snow!

This is an injury from snowboarding on Tuesday. I was in the half pipe and I was headed to the other side of the pipe with my back towards the center and in the middle I collided with a kid that wasn't watching where he was going. His board hit me in the leg and his knee almost hit me in the face but I blocked it. The line in the bruise was made by my boot last night when I went again. No big accidents last night though.

No more snow Mommy!

Well, snow is still not a hit this year. Despite my efforts to play & engage with her (snowman, throwing snowballs, etc), she hated it. She just stood in this one position and would not move. She finally walked over to the patio door and tried to open it to go inside. I gave up after that!

Cooking with Mom

Jadyn loves to help me in the kitchen. The only problem is that she wants to help every time! She is great at shredding lettuce, spreading (i.e. eating) cheese, and numerous other tasks. Okay, she mostly just eats what I am making--she has very quick fingers!

Yesterday while I was making chicken enchiladas, she bit into and ate a whole chicken tenderloin (I guess the small pieces I was giving her weren't enough), half a taco shell, a bunch of cheese, tomatoes, and carrots. No wonder she wasn't hungry an hour later at dinner!

Freeport folks!

You can see everyone except Jacob. He wasn't wanting to
be photographed that day!

Trip to Nauvoo

Megan and I got to visit the Nauvoo temple while she was here. Debi met us and we had a good time. Just wish it didn't take 2 1/2 hours to get to any temple around here!

Christmas in Montana

Don't the cousins look cute in their matching Reindeer PJ's?

Jadyn loved Papa and Namme Ann!

Jadyn's First Haircut

Right before Christmas, I decided to trim Jadyn's hair. It was getting "fuzzy" on the ends and she was sporting a mullet in the back. So, Mommy gave her a little trim. She sat so still that she got some "pee-pee and poo-poos" (potty training candy). Later that day after I got back from the salon with my haircut, she excitedly told me I got to have pee-pee and poo-poos too!
