Not set in stone...but getting firmer!

We feel pretty sure now that this new baby girl will be named Maya Elisabeth. We feel it "pairs" better with Jadyn Nicole and we love the name. So, despite that it was the #62 most popular girls name last year, we feel that should be her name.

However, all you Esme haters out there, we can't promise that you won't see a revival of that name in the future!

Now, do you think the spelling Maya is straightforward enough that people will pronounce it My-ah instead of May-ah? Or, would an alternate spelling be better (like Mya)?

Oh, and if she is actually born on 08-08-08, we could named her Octavia....but we won't!

Memorial Day Family Fun!

Holidays are fun because we love spending extra time together as a family. We took Jadyn down to the parade downtown. I must say the parade left a little to be desired, but Jadyn loved it. She got to see dogs, horses, and the "Red Robin" bird. People threw candy at her, she got a flag to wave, and heard marching bands. She did not like the end with all the sirens blaring or the exhaust from the motorcycles. She loved to wave her flag and is still asking "Where's my flag at?" and it toting it around with her everywhere.

We then ran some errands, Daddy and Jadyn napped, and then we went out to Red Robin for dinner. Hey, someone grilled....it just wasn't me! It was a fun day.

Treat = Carpet Square?

About a week ago, we visited a carpet place in the evening. It was close to bedtime so Jadyn was a little wound up and was running around through the carpet samples. She still was being good...just full of energy. Well, at the end, the salesperson said, "You have been a good girl, come with me and I will give you a treat".

So, she takes us to the back room and says "Jadyn, you can pick out a carpet square to take home with you!". Jadyn looked at me like, "What exactly does this lady want me to do?" I helped Jadyn choose a carpet square so we could get out of there and get her to bed. As we were putting Jadyn in the car she said, "I want a treat, Mommy". She did not understand that when the lady said the word treat she was meaning a carpet square and she was upset. Note to carpet lady: don't tell a 2 1/2 year old they can have a treat and then offer them something they don't even recognize!

Jadyn did have fun jumping on her carpet square once we got home though!

Did you know the full title?

According to Jadyn the full title is "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ AMEN". She loves to read the title and will finish with it with "Amen". It is so cute when she says it. I guess it is obvious that we pray with her, huh?

We have started reading 2 verses in the Book of Mormon along with Jadyn's two bedtime stories. We gave her her own blue copy and she loves to look at the pictures. She opens to the first picture and says "Look at Mommy, that's Jesus. That's Jesus Mommy". Oh, how I love this joyful child.

Well, Jadyn doesn't want to read just at bedtime. We also read before nap, while she is using the bathroom, etc. As soon as she wakes up from naps/bedtime, she says in her dramatic way, "My Book of Mormon". So, I must promptly grab it off her dresser and bring it with us immediately.

I hope she continues to love this book and gains a testimony of it as she gets older.

Hello Baby Sister!

Jadyn loves to feel her baby sister kick. Here is a picture of me at 28 1/2 weeks with baby girl #2. Don't mind Jadyn's wild hair....we had just pulled her pigtails out!

Transitions

Well, it was long overdue. Today we finally converted Jadyn's crib into a toddler bed. We hope the transition goes smoothly and Jadyn will stay in the bed. Jadyn thought it was fun to climb up by herself and jump on the bed. I am not sure if she quite understands what it is for! We will see how tonight goes...we hope she sleeps well. When we move to our house, Jadyn will be getting a twin bed and the crib will be for the new baby.

Alabama Trip

Here is Jadyn's cousin Sophie on her blessing day. Jadyn loved Sophie and was very gentle with her. We hope she will be as loving to her little sister.

These next pictures are from Cathedral Caverns. Nathan loved the caverns; however, Jadyn and Mom were "done" after about 5 minutes! Notice that cousin Riley is playing in the water spicket. He was so cute and did not understand why the employee made him stop!

My favorite accessory!

Ok, so instead of going to bed like I should so I can make very important decisions like condo buying....I decided to show you all my new hair. It looks better in the morning, but oh well.  I was able to donate it so I am happy! Plus it takes way less time to get ready now... Yeah! Goodnight.
Meg

Happy Graduation present from mother nature!!

Soon to be U of I graduates!!!!!!

At the end of this week Jeremy and Jessi will be graduates of U of I. Congratulations!

Grading Time!

Well, we had a fun activity grading tonight at the Goeringers. Carter circled my 6th grader's points and drew some pictures. Taylor sorted papers, graded, and even wrote messages to my students. They were very helpful so we decided to take a picture together. We love you!

Megan, Taylor, and Carter (but he doesn't want to say I love you...just Taylor. He can read now and wants me to erase it.)

If left to her own devices....

Jadyn decided to redecorate while Mom was on the phone. I guess napkins are the hot item in decorating for this year. She had even sprinkled pepper on the napkins. Just what you want to hear while on the phone, "Look it Mommy....I did it!"
